By taking a thoughtful approach to using the Vitrigraph kiln we can create cane and murrini that rival those created in a hot shop. Capitalisising on the ways glass can be arranged in and flows from a crucible, students in this innovative workshop will learn to create reproducible decorative cans and intricate murrini using he Vitrigraph kiln cloud collaboration. These elements can then, immediately, be used in other kiln-glass projects. Students will need to be able to confidently cut approximately 30 small circles in 3mm glass. Glass cutting is introduced in this workshop but they need to have some experience prior to class. All materials are provided in this workshop.

Nathan Sandberg was born in Jamestown, New York, USA and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Glass and Ceramics from the School of Art and Design at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He has shown work in galleries across the US including, Portland Sate University’s Autzen Gallery and gallery One One in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has been represented by Bullseye Gallery at art fairs including, SOFA: Chicago and Art Santa Fe. His work is included in private collections. he worked as an instructor in the Research and Education department at Bullseye Glass Co. for seven years.
